Sunflower

Because I couldn’t just pick a few pictures to post up on my portfolio, and I absolutely LOVED capturing my sweet cousin’s beauty, here’s an entire blog post, plus a few that Callie snapped of me!

I was seriously so pumped when Callie asked me if I wanted to check out the sunflower fields near Chattanooga while I was visiting!! They are my mom’s favorite flower, so naturally they became my favorite flower haha. I love the simplicity yet beauty of a sunflower, how they stand out among the crowd, and always turn their face to the sun.

Lately I’ve been struggling with my confidence and relying on God’s strength, rather than my own, to get through some stressful situations. With a lot of life decisions coming my way in the next year, I’ve been reading “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst and it is constantly reminding me to pursue God’s best yes for my life and learning how to make decisions with discernment and wisdom. And I keep going back to the phrase, “turn your face to the Son.” No matter what’s going on in my day I’ll think of that phrase, and it’s a reminder for me to talk to God and tune into his voice. I get so caught up with worldly wisdom that I often lose focus on what He’s trying to tell me in the moment. I’m so looking forward to seeing what He has in store for me in the upcoming months and where He will lead me!

I will forever photograph people in sunflower fields because of this sweet reminder & because of the beauty we all have within us – that’s the way we were created!
